Motels predict the next big thing

If we take a look at a brief history at the facets of the American motel sign, we find also a history of items that were massive technological advances in comfort and communication that also crossed into complete mainstream acceptance. In other words, whatever will be on the motel sign in the next 5-10 years, will truly be the next big thing that crosses the chasm in complete mainstream acceptance.

Before mobile technology, internet, and just general advances in communication, the "Vacancy" sign was critical to travelers.

However, as new environmental luxuries became more mainstream and expected, the "Vacancy" sign had a friend join it which would read "Air Conditioned." Oh, we do love that cool air.

Shortly after the majority of our motel rooms were "Air Conditioned" as advertised, there came the flood of communication technologies which changed how we spent our time in our motel/hotel rooms. This was not just TV, it was the brilliance and real-life aspects of  "Color TV."

The color TV's 5 channels  were then complemented with "Cable (HBO)".  And to make our stay a little more entertaining and a little more business friendly as well, the current motel sign states whether or not you can expect to have "WiFi".

Interesting is the fact that each of these advertised and provided motel offerings were incredible innovations to themselves. However, a technology innovation making its way to the motel sign is an indication of truly crossing the chasm.

So to all the futurists out there; what will make it to the motel sign next?

"We have hybrid vehicle charging stations"  ?
"We have hypobaric sleep bed" ?
"We have allergen-free air" ?

It might be something YOU already have...but I can't wait until the motel signs tell us when it is here to stay.
What do you think it might be?
