If you have put in the hard work and made it to a role where you are now making serious business decisions for your company, please do not forget that you have an enormous responsibility on behalf of your business with those decisions.
Your company, your team, your role is not a new shiny toy or your daytime playground. A simple "nah, I don't think so," based on weak data and an arbitrary gut feeling could very well lead to people losing their jobs somewhere down the line - or it could mean a loss in company revenue somewhere as well.
This is not to say that the same decisions could not yield positive results, but nevertheless, are you taking this seriously? Do you know for sure?
Your title is just a title, your clothes are just clothes, your job however, is your responsibility. Take your job seriously (your company does). Take pride in your work.
Allow the novelties to wear off. The respect, results, and credibility will remain.
