The Negative Consequence of a Good Thing

Sometimes the worst kind of idea is an overwhelmingly good idea. These are the ideas that no one objects, in fact, everyone whole-heartedly embraces. So ask me, how is this a bad thing? Well....

Your precious baby now has 20-40 moms and dads. Your idea is now a major company initiative. You've lost control of it, it's bigger than you now. In this situation you need not remind everyone that this was YOUR idea or constantly attempt to steer this new ship. Instead, be proud to be part of this new idea, initiative, etc.

The right people remember it was your idea, and that should be good enough for you....until the next best idea ever.
